We have some exciting new classes and workshops starting in the coming months. This week’s blog will feature a few of the new ones we are offering but there are plenty more available!
Our hand-lettering workshop with Lesley Miller has proven to be a real hit! Students have really enjoyed practicing this trendy new writing technique and Lesley is such a delight to learn from. Her next workshop on August 19th will be followed by a card-making class where you can apply your freshly learned hand-lettering to 5 personalized unique hand-made stationary!
Our in-house acrylic painter and teacher, Jane Newman, is conducting a drapery and folds workshop on August 19th so that artists can practice rendering fabric in their drawings and paintings. Winsor & Newton paint will even be provided!
One of our newer teachers, Jim Tucker (currently showing at Chattanooga’s In-Town Gallery) is teaching an introductory pen and ink class starting Tuesday, August 29th. You will learn the basic concepts of line building and cross-hatching, exploring value scales, and approaches to composing in just black and white. Tucker is following this class up with another 6 week class on introductory ink wash!
Karen Reader has an 8 week beginners soft pastels class starting September 9th. Commonly regarded as a challenging and frustrating media, Karen has put together a curriculum to get you comfortable with soft pastels including layering pigment, mixing colors, and prepping and storing your delicate work.
Come learn and create with us!
All classes are held at our Hamilton Place Mall location.
